Huffington Post Quotes From Too Big to Fail
In Too Big to Fail: How Wall Street and Washington Fought to Save the Financial System — and Themselves, readers finally get a chance to see just what happened and what was said behind closed doors as Wall Street executives and government officials tried to save the financial system.
The Huffington Post has compiled some of its favorite quotes and set them to a slide show. Among those quoted are Hank Paulson and his reaction to JPMorgan Chase’s raising its bid for Bear Stearns; Sen. Jim Bunning and his dismay about the government’s attempts to save Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac; and JPMorgan chief Jamie Dimon’s macabre warning to his executives the night before Lehman Brothers failed.
“New York Times scribe Andrew Ross Sorkin’s much-anticipated book Too Big To Fail may be the closest we’ll ever get to being a fly on the wall during last year’s financial crisis,” the site writes.
